Bounds

Set bounds for your particle effects to limit the performance impact they may have at run time. This is important as an infinite bound space may result in undesirable effects as well as be costly to performance.

LODs

A set of controls to control the performance of the effect at different camera distances in the game.

LOD0: The highest level of detail.

In order to break a module from it’s parent at LOD0, right click it and select Duplicate from Higher. This allows you to affect that module for that level of detail.

LOD Distances allows you to set which LOD appears at a set distance. This is an array that is created as you add/remove LODs.

Visual Complexity

Use the visual complexity shader to view the complexity of your effects at varying distances to ensure optimal run times.
